MONETA, VA — The Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce announces the arrival of its newly designed Wine Festival t-shirts in plenty of time for the 23rd annual event on September 24 and 25 at LakeWatch Plantation on Rt. 122, Moneta.
First introduced as an appreciation gift to the scores of volunteers who make the SML Wine Festival possible, the commemorative shirt has since taken on a greater role. Wine festival shirts have become a collector’s item promoting the lake and event all year round. Shirt sales help to support the SML Visitor Center. Each year since the concept began 20 years ago, Jon Dabareiner of Ameriprise Financial Advisors has been a loyal sponsor, providing the event T-shirts.
This year’s T-shirt was designed by Brandt Harrell, co-owner of Next Generation Designs. The design was created using the bottom of a wine bottle dipped in red wine to make the bunch of grapes. “Each year we strive to create a unique shirt design which will appeal to festival goers. Based on the initial 11’ ‘buyer’s reaction’, we’ve hit a home run this year!” says Vicki Gardner, SML Regional Chamber Director. “The design is simple and smart.”
What better way to attend this year’s event than to be decked out in the official 23rd Annual Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival T-Shirt? This year’s pre-shrunk all-cotton T- sports the 2011 logo across its back and also includes the SML Wine Festival’s NEW insignia on the front. Sizes range from small through 3XL. The shirts are available at the SML Welcome Center in Bridgewater Plaza at the Hales Ford Bridge and online at the wine festival’s new website www.smlwinefestival.com via PayPal.
Cost of each shirt is $10 (or $15 for online orders which include shipping and handling).
Celebrating its 23rd year, the two-day festival will be held rain or shine at LakeWatch Plantation on Route 122 in Moneta from 11a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, and 11a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 25.
