It’s been a fluky week, with the weather staggering between 30 and 55 degrees, sunny and gloomy. Seems everyone I’ve talked to lately has a story to tell of why they are glad to reign in the new year. A humorous quotation from a recent conversation on said topic:
“An optimist stays up new year’s night to welcome the new year. A pessimist stays up to make sure last year leaves.”
Who knows what 2011 holds? For some, it holds some great promise in carrying on sparks started before. In frequenting various networking events the final quarter of 2010, it became joyfully clear to me how many talented individuals reside close by in High Point, and how many business are on the verge of blossoming into exciting venues all over the city. We’re all onto something—we’ll keep pushing until the dam breaks.
(Okay, I’m done with water metaphors.)
